If a baptism isn't listed on LDS is it a good chance the person hadn't been christened or is there another good website for them.
Thanks everyone in advance.

Hi Linda

If its not on the LDS site, and the rest of the parish is, then maybe they were not baptised at all. If the whole parish is not on the LDS site, they may not have indexed the microfilm, or they may not have been allowed to microfilm the parish registers.

Depends on the area but, some counties have lots of good websites where lovely people have transcribed the parish records, others have nothing.

Somerset has lots of sites, Cambridgeshire has the CFHS site for 1801-37.

The LDS site does not cover every Baptism that ever took place since records began.

The coverage for actual transcriptions from Parish Registers varies from Parish to Parish and County to County.

A useful site to check for coverage is....

It is also important to remember that the LDS site rotates the records it has online.............

How would you know if an entire parish was on the LDS site?

Margaret,

they remove some records from online viewing and put up other records.

apparently they don't have enough space to have all the records available for viewing at all times .......... so some go into "storage" (if you want to put it that way!) and others come out.

this explains why you may have found a record last year, but then can't find it this year.
