Incorrect birth certificate

Hi Shirley. Unfortunately I am not sure of her father's name ie on 1901 census it is Gaye but on Edith's marriage certificate it is William? But the 1901 census makes sense ie another brother I am sure of. To make things worse they were born in Pershore, named Smith and worc cc's website doesn't do online ordering of certificates and was difficult to navigate. However, most of my relatives were born in Birmingham and that Registry Office's staff are very helpful ie calling me direct before issuing a certificate. Fairly new to this but muddling through.
Thanks

we have all done that sometime ,bought the wrong cert.
hope you made the note of the GRO ref so you dont reorder the same one again.

its another look then for the right one, you can specify a check point ie mum or dads name when ordering ,if it not correct on the one you order then you will get a partal refund,of £4 saves wasting all the £7.

Yes I am sure that its the incorrect names for my great grandparents and my father is still alive and is sure of the date of birth.
Thanks anyway

If they have supplied correctly the one you quoted the GRO ref for then you cant get a refund ..

How do you know its not the correct date of birth? does everything else tie up ie parents names .

It was the correct GRO reference but not the correct date of birth.

Is it the one you asked for?

I've just received a birth certificate from GRO and its incorrect. Do they give refunds or should I just apply for another one?
