I need help badly please. I have added my grandmother's details to my gt.gt. grandfather instead of my gt grandmother. I've looked at the FAQ and done as I was told, but no matter how I try I don't seem to be allowed to change the details and if I try to delete from the top down I'm told I can't delete anyone with children or I can't delete anyone with parents. I'm going CRAZY! Please help me.

you may need to contact genes to get them to correct it for you

I think you need to delete any decendants of the person you made the mistake on starting from the present time and working your way back to them.

Gill - get yourself a decent family tree program - GR;s is such a pain.

If you cannot delete, change all the details to unknown or wrong.
Or add another partner then edit/change partner/delete.

Thanks everyone for your help. I managed to sort it out, but had to delete loads of relations first, so now I have to put them all back. I think I'll leave it for another day, I've just spent 4 hours with family history today! I'm looking forward to retiring next year, but I'm sure I'll be just as busy with my reasearch as I am now working!

Thanks again.

Gill.
