Ged com and FTM question please

I have FTM on my pc.
I also have the gedcom from GR.

When I go to Append/merge it isnt highlighted!
It also says...Gedcom is already in use and busy.

What on earth am I doing wrong?

Hi Gerri, have you actually saved the gedcom from GR on your computer from the e-mail?

My neeeece is here with me trying to sort me out! lol She sorted her own with your help but cant work mine out!

You cant get away Gerri, I'm in USA at the moment.
You say you have the Gedcom on the desktop, so that should be fine.
Are you trying to use the same name for the gedcom? That could explain why it is in use. try changing the desktop gedcom to a different name if you are.

I went back to the e.mail and saved it again and now it's worked!....LOL
