There is a Walter F Curtis born in Newington in 1875 who appears on the '81 and '91 but you say his middle name was Daniel.

I must be looking in the wrong place but I can't find him on Ancestry in 1901 at all. Who did he marry and when? Do you know of any siblings at all?

There's one in Islington:

Births Dec 1873 (>99%)
Curtis Walter Frank Islington 1b 286

I also found this - I know he's no relation but thought you might appreciate the totally fabulous name!

1863 - CURTIS Walter Vandeleur Zaphnath-paaneah Norwich 4b 171

can any one help im banging my head against a brick wall.I have marriage and death certificates for my gt gfather walter daniel curtis.
I also have found him on board a vessel "The Blake" on the 1901 census. His place of birth says
LOndon Havingdon? Havington? Navingdon? its really difficult to read.. he is 27 at this time making him born 1874.
On his marriage certificate there is no fathers name or surname.
I also cannot find any trace of him on 1881 census
or find a birth reg ....its driving me nuts he obviously existed..the poor man died aged 38 in a lunatic asylum in lincoln having been there for 4yrs and 2months after an accident at sea which left him paralised

any help greatly appreciated
