hi there,

i am trying to find any siblings of my great greandfather Frederick James Fagan brn 1900 in guildford. On the free BMD i have found one probable brother Albert C.V Fagan brn 1903 in guildford( who my father remembers and i have an address for). after that there are no other fagan births in guildford on there.

i know fred was the first child of James G Fagan and Rosina Avenell/Avenall/ Avenill.from my great grandmothers address book i have a few possible siblings for him including Rosa,Earnest and derreck.

if some kind soul has ancestry wondered if it would be possible to see if they may be on there as i know the free bmd is incomplete.

i do not know if this is even possible as i can't track the family after 1901 census so they may have moved.

thanks for reading!
Leanne

This looks more like Jame's sister, not daughter, although I note he was born in 1873 in Exeter.

Victoria they were married on april 7th 1900 in pirbright, surrey. i have their marriage cert. i think they may have moved from there after 1903 as i could find no more fagan births in guildford after then as moody blue found.

the rosa is in the address book of fred's wife so could be his aunt. but if she was born 1880, wouldn't she be with the family in 81 census? perhaps she was a cousin or some other relative. would you possibly be able to look for her in 81/91 census please?

thank you all so much for your replies, my computer was playing up last night, hence the no reply. thank you all so much!

leanne,

just a correction .................. for Septemebr 1837 to about 1910, freebmd is more up to date than ancestry, as ancestry takes its bmds for those years from freebmd.

Freebmd now has records upto as late as 1925, as the volunteers slowl catch up with the transcribing.

What you get on ancestry that is better than freebmd is the Compelte Index to bmds from 1837 to ca 2005 (or even 2006)........ which have to be searched quarter by quarter year by year!
