Hi

I haven't looked at the Ancestry BMD indexes for quite a while but I've just gone into it to look for a death. When I click on the 'view record' I'm getting the page where you sign up for paid membership. Is this service no longer free?

Thanks for the kind offer Lost for Words, but I wasn't looking for any death in particular, just showing my neighbour the Ancestry site since she's getting interested as a result of the WDYTYA TV programme.

Didn't it used to be a pay per view site before? I'm sure when I started my research about 2 years ago it was pay per view.....and it was changed to being free.

Thanks again

Its never been free - the BMD index used to be free but isn't now. I think you can still buy credits for Ancestry to use it as pay per view if you don't want to subscribe.
