Thanks Ron, the tree splitter is available, and it comes up with a string of dire warnings....

Is The "Split Tree helper" feature included in version 2.1 yes or no ?? It is in 3.1. I need to know before I can help you.

Please can someone spell out what should be a very simple procedure in Family Historian 2.1

I want to copy one family group (ie an individual and all his descendants) from an existing tree (gedcom file) and use it as the starting point for a new tree.

The system "guide" appears to have been written by a CIA operative for people who have a PhD in system jargon.

All tips gratefully received....
