Hi Linda, here's James and his sister Hannah in 1861. James is a coal miner, Hannah is a ????? by steam power. Hannah Brag is listed as a boarder.

1841 transcribed Hugh but this time original reads Hough:
Wigan, Lancashire
James Hough, 35, rover
Ann, 30
Alice, 10
John, 10
William, 10
Charles, 5
Samuel, 3
James, 1 month
Looks like the census taker has made the mistake of rounding down the children's ages. It was only supposed to be done over the age 15, but looks like he has rounded down some of them to 10. I'm sure they weren't triplets.

IGI has the births of some of the children. They give parents names as James Hough and Ann Layland. Unfotunately they're submitted records and I never put any faith in them.
