I recieved a message from a new contact yesterday, when i went to send my reply, it told me contact could not be found. I have checked my inbox and sent messages and this contact has completely dissappeared along with the message. has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks Julie

That is certainly strange. Have you looked in the 'my contacts' list to see if they are there? Otherwise see if they have posted on one of the boards and send them a pm through that.

Hi claire, I think you might be right. I have just gone on search family trees and there is no sign of this person anywhere... but she only contacted me yesterday which i can't fathom out if she is no longer a member.

She may be like me -- not too many names in her own family tree (or maybe hasn't even done a tree), and so she contacts people when she does a search and finds a family member in someone else's tree, but you wouldn't find her when you searched for names in trees. So she could still be a member, just tree-less or short of relations in her tree.

Do you still have the email informing you of the contact? I imagine that when you click on the link to read it, it's a dead link, but you could always try.

I don't want to suggest stupidity (it's a too-common response hereabouts), but I have been known to click on "delete" when I meant to click on "reply", or "next", or whatever other link is in the vicinity of "delete", here and in other places where PMs are exchanged ... and fortunately realized what I'd done and had to hurriedly click "back" to retrieve the message ...
