The Elusive Foy Family

I’m having serious problems trying to find birth details for the elusive Foy family, it would appear that they had an adversary to filling in official forms, what I know of the family is as follows:

Patrick Foy b abt 1844 Galway Ireland d Q2 1909 Haslingden
Margaret ?? b abt 1849 Galway Ireland

It would appear that they married sometime in Galway then came over to the East Lancashire area, where they had a family.

Julia b abt 1871 in Bacup - married Robert Taylor 1894 Haslingden
Michael b abt 1874 Bacup – married Mary Elizabeth Howarth 1897 Haslingden - died 18/05/1908 Haslingden
Winnie b abt 1876 Bacup – married Michael Gallagher 1896 Haslingden
John b abt 1878 Bacup – married Mary Ellen Moughan 1899 Rawtenstall
Catherine (Kate) b abt 1881 Bacup – married John William O’Shea 1902 Haslingden
Patrick b abt 1884 Bacup
Sarah b abt 1886 Bacup

I have them on the 1891 & 1901 census, however can’t find the family on 1871 or 1881

What I can’t find also is the childrens birth registration with the exception of Sarah’s below, it is Michaels I’m interested in, as he is my G Grandfather, I have his MC and also DC .
The only child I can find registered is Sarah June 1886 (8e 105 Haslingden).

I have called myself to look for many a month now but can’t find anything except the above, I’m hoping to find Michaels birth registration so I can order his BC so it might give me his mothers (Margaret) maiden name, so I can have a try to find her in Galway as try as I may I can’t find the elusive Patrick snr. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any help or assistance gratefully received

Thanks in advance
L

As registration wasn't compulsory until 1875, you may be out of luck with Michael

Isn't Sarah his full sibling?

If she is, her cert would have the info you seek

Thanks Reggie, so obvious, I missed that, however I'd liked to get the full set of BC, MC & DC. But as you say I'll work thru Sarah.
Thanks

As Regie said registration wasnt compulsory until 1875, so as you have already mentioned they appeared to have an "adversary to filling in official forms" they are unlike to register a birth unless they have to.
You will have to go with the one for Sarah to establish the mothers maiden name

I think it was fairly common to put down the place where you were as the place of birth, so the children might have been born several places ......
