Could Violet have been known as Dora???

We have a friend known as Max ............. his initials are F J R, and Max is NOT a shortening for any of them.

He was nicknamed Max while in utero, and the name stuck!

This could be a bit long winded.
Am trying to find out details on my gt uncle Bill whose name was actually Charles William Andrews.

Going from what my nan has said and her little jottings of dates we have the following.

First she told us he died in 1981 in Bromley and his wife was Dora and he was a Porter in some flats

Send for only death cert can find fitting in and its for Westminster, Bromley died 8th Feb 1981, wife is Violet and he is a handyman.

Dont have a birth for him but going on all the other siblings it is about 1901 which fits in with death cert

Now after mum has spoken to nan again his wife Dora died young but she never mentioned if he remarried.

Have found a possible death for Dora Andrews in Westminster in Dec 1937 aged 28.

Now nan says she used to visit them when she was in service which she started in 1934 as it was nearby and she was in London.

I have looked for marriages and cant find one for Charles and Dora

anyone come up with any answers please
where do I go next, cos Uncle Bill aint answering my pleas for him to guide me in the right direction
