Can anyone help me ????

William Parr is buried in Aspull Wigan and on his headstone it states that he died on the 26th April 1972 aged 70...

I can not find an entry to confirm this and so can not order a certificate...!!!

There are several William Parrs born over 1901 1902 and so am unsure which one it is to order a birth certificate too.. I think it could be the one in Q4 1901?? But am still perplexed...

Am hitting brick walls with this chap can anyone help.. ??

Hi Gerri,

Another question for you...

Have been on the google thingy!!!! What does "Transferred to GMT in 1974" mean? Who or what is GMT?

You see he actually died at home - New Springs - Which as far as I am aware this comes under Wigan, and was buried in Aspull,, Do you think that this makes a difference?

Debbie

I asked the question on a new thread.
One answer came back saying ...
"Possibly Greater Manchester"

Hope this helps

Perhaps an email to GRO would put some light on the situation eh??!!

I think I will do that and then I could let you know what they say..
