Can anyone enlighten me why I have been charged £10 per cert, which I ordered from GRO when they advertise they are £7? Only just noticed when checking my bank statement just now, don't want to ring them tomorrow and look stupid if I've missed something!

I just gave the details that I had, which were accurate. Surely thats what you're meant to do if you have them so that you get the right certs. Even more confused now!

They should only charge £7.00 if you know the Volume and district numbers but If you dont they charge a tenner... Thats how much I was charged ..

you only need the GRO ref with the name and then it cost £7, it costs £10 without the GRO ref so looks like you putting too much info may have overridden the Gro ref . Did you tick the box that the GRO was known.

I thought certs. from GRO were £8.50, they must have increased in price then. Ordering them from the Register Office in which the event took place costs £7 plus stamped self addressed env. Unless things have just altered.

When you ordered online, did you tick the "yes" box when it asks "Is the Full GRO Reference Known?"

If you ticked this box then the certificate should have been £7. If you left it on "no" (which is where it's at when you go onto the site) then they will charge you £10.

Thank you everybody.

Got called away last night, little people then work. So only just reading what everyone has put.

Will check my ordering details, re GRO ref.
