it doesnt have to be short for anything, i have a kitty and she was actually bap kitty.

My Kitty was a Catherine, but we also had a Margaret who liked to be known as Kitty :0)))

Is the name Kitty short for Kathleen?
Only last week i was told my father had a aunt who was put into a asylum in Birmingham in the 20c..
I am trying to establish the year she died and wonder whether the institution was responsble also for registering her death..
I wish i could find more about her ...
