Medal cards can be downloaded from the documentsonline site. The site has examples of the different types of cards, and what is shown on them, so this might explain the card you have. The cards don't have parents names on them, and in most cases, don't have an address.

JeannieR......

Hi there. hope you don't mind me "butting" in.....

My grandfather's name was Joseph Morris Harrison, and therefore, extremley common.......Loads of Joseph M Harrisons..... I have found a Medal Card, which could be his, but could you clarify if parents, or a home town are mentioned, on the downloaded card ? This would make my quest so much easier.

Thankyou

Jeannie

Nots sure but, could be that he never claimed or was never issued one even though he was entitled to A medal, so the medal's were never entered on his medal card

I have just downloaded the medal card of a relative and im now confused! it isnt like the others i have had, can someone help me to understand it please?
On the card it says his Name.. reg number... and his regiment, in this case the RAMC TF (royal army medical corps territorial force)
date of discharge, enlistment, cause of discharge, and the date of application, the address of applicant (which is blank)
Action taken... list RAMC/1450
but no medals are listed why?
anyone with knowledge? i have saved the image if someone can take a look please.
Many thanks
Sharmala.
