Hi John,

No I didn't mean Australia. This James Davie gave his address on discharge as 22 James Street, Perth in Scotland.

If you want to send me your email addresss in a pm, then I will send you the images and you can decide for yourself if he is the James Davie you are looking for.

His Fathers name was John. I do not know about Perth. Do you mean Australia? If so I would not think so. I am quessing about 1916 it could have been 1917. My father was the first Canadian of the family and he was born in 1918 so it is possible.

Did he serve with the CEF? Their records are excellent - I applied for copies of my OH's grandfather. Maybe there would be something on there about previous military history?

There is someone of that name on the Army Pensions records on Ancestry.

Do you know if he ever lived in Perth? Was his father's name John?

UPDATE - This one wasn't discharged until 1917, so couldn't have arrived in Canada in 1916. Just in case it is the right one I have saved the nine pages from Ancestry.
