so if anyone was on night shift then they wouldnt have been on any census - i didnt realise that

Another thought - if he was a coal miner he could have been on night shift and not listed at his home. No idea how you would find this out though

Jane is down as married in 1891 (a silk weaver).
Perhaps John was away, possibly visiting family in Ireland at the time of the census. Could he have died in Ireland?

reg that looks promising i suppose if he came from ireland his father being a farmer makes sense plus edward nugent his son joined the royal dublin fusiliers so that might be the irish connection but i cant find out what happened to him he has disappeared off the face of the earth

yes that her and her two children from john nugent it says sarah a nugent but if you look at the image it says sarah a aspinall and that was her daughter from her first marriage to peter aspinall - no sign of john and i dont think it says widow i cant remember

hi i am looking for a john nugent . i have his marriage cert to my great grandmother jane ainscough but i cant find out any other info or find him anywhere
jane had been married once before and her first husband peter aspinall had died of tb aged 26 years
the marriage cert states
1885 congregational church pennington leigh lancashire
1st august 1885

JOHN NUGENT
age 23 years
batchelor
occupation - coal miner
residence - smithy street pennington ( this is in leigh lancashire )
fathers name - edward nugent
fathers occupation - farmer

JANE ASPINALL
age 30 years
widow
no occupation
resindence - smithy street penninton
fathers name - james ainscough
fathers occupation - boatman

witness - george ainscough ( janes younger brother )
and amelia (looks like ) darnell

i cant find anything else about JOHN NUGENT
john and jane had two children MARY JANE NUGENT c1886 and EDWARD NUGENT c1889 both of leigh lancashire
in 1901 the children are in the workshouse in leigh and jane has remarried a THOMAS LAMB in 1901.
there is no sign of JOHN NUGENT and i cant find a death that fits
anyone got any ideas
