Hi, could anyone give me some info on going about to find a marraige?

I am trying to find the marraige of my mom and dad. I have no idea as to the date but as my eldest sister was born in 1946 I think it was before this.

I have found details of their births and deaths and are as follows.

Kate Gerrie
born 02/12/1926 Halifax
9a 590
died July 2003 Halifax
c4d 262

Francis William Shierson
born 30/09/1922 Liverpool
8b 692
died 1971 Halifax
2b 665

I would be gratefull for any help or advice how to do this.
