Hi Maureen,

Your help is very much appreciated. I think that because those two names are on the same sheet it could possibly be them. You have given me info that I can continue researching. You are an angel, many thanks

Hi
You beat me to it. It looks like Pinington on the image but I think it is Pennington.
In June qtr 1846 at Liverpool is a poss marriage for Mary Barlow to a George Pennington but there are 6 other people listed on the page so this is not proof that they married each other. I looked for a death for George Pennington but there are lots of them and of course no ages are given until about 1866.
Not much help, sorry
Maureen

Hi Maureen,

I have just checked the census and the name is not Mary Pipington but Mary Pennington.

The name of hannah`s mother on the cert is.. Mary Silcock. and the place of the birth is...Woodchurch, Wirrel, Cheshire.

Kathlyn Report 3 Oct 2007 17:19

I am researching a James Barlow c1812. and his wife Mary c1816. They would have married about 1836-1842 as the birth cert of their daughter Hannah is June 1842. He is recorded as being a "fisherman"" on the certificate. They are living in the Hoylake area of Cheshire so that makes sense of his trade.

I could not find him on the 1851 census so I tried Hannah, and found one of the right age, living in the same area, with a mother who is recorded as "head", called Mary Pipington and a sister of 4 called Mary Ann.

I could "assume" that James died and Mary re-married !!!!!

Thoughts as to how to proceed would be very helpfull.
