I cannot find a birth record for my great grandfathers brother. He is the youngest sibling and as far as I know the only one not born in Ireland. On census for 1881, 1891 & 1901 he is listed as born in Newport, Monmouthshire but I can't find anything for him on bmd records. Anyone got any tips on where else to look?

I have this problem Donna, with my great gran. Turned out she was a Romany gypsy! That may not be true in your case, but its possible he was born in Scotland or Ireland so he wont be on the BMD?

I had a problem with finding the birth of my B/Grandfather. I couldn't find him anywhere when I first started looking. Then it dawned on me to look for a different spelling of the name + I found it. Have you tried any variations of the name Donna?
