How do i find a Scottish birth record from 1922/23

You must have missed the explanation on Scotlandspeople that to respect the privacy of living people, internet access has been limited to birth records over 100 years old, marriage records over 75 years, and death records over 50 years. To obtain 'modern certificates' first Google for the GROS website and read it carefully. It explains all your options, including approaching the local registrars.

As a matter of interest what is the procedure for finding then applying for a cert/date?

The only source is the SGRO in Edinburgh. There is nothing on line

I need help trying to locate the birth record of my grandfather, he was born in 1922/23 in scotland... I thought the Scotlandspeople website would be able to help me, but birth records only go to 1906? Why is this and is there any other way of getting this information?
