Hi guys,

I was just wondering whether or not it's possible to search the 1901 census on Ancestry by address? I know you can do it on the 1901censusonline site, but I don't have a subscription for that!

Thanks,

Amy

You can but it is a long trawl.

Any names that could be looked for

I'm looking for the occupiers of 4 Smarts Buildings and 65 Betterton Street, Soho/Holborn/St Giles.

The names I'm hoping to come up with are Parr or Edwards.

What county is St Giles in?

I think it is Middlesex, it's basically the Westminster/Soho area.

Do you have Ancestry?

Select 1901 census then scroll down and select county of London. Find St Giles in the Fields.

There are 5 enumerator districts.

Smarts Buildings are in ED17 and then find images 8 and 9 for 4 Smart Buildings.

No Parr or Edwards families at no 4 but I have not checked other images

Parts of Betterton St are in ED14

These addresses seem vaguely familiar
