I think the birthplace transcribed as Kersley will actually be Kearsley which is next to Farnworth.

If you have access to Ancestry the family are transcribed as Kartin 1891.

You can do an address search on Ancestry, but it is a slow longwinded way. You have to click on the census you want, then scroll down the page and click on which county, then on the town which will bring up a list of enumeration districts. You have to then check each description of each enumeration district to find the street you are looking for and then scroll through all the images for that district until you find the address you want. It can take some time but it can be done.

Hi I'm trying to find info on a Jospeh Kay who lived at 197 Albert Road Farnworth Lancashire in 18th Feb 1895. He was a hawker. (and aparently my gg grandfather!)

I got this info from a bastardy order against him so I also know that he was old enough to father a child (born Jan 1895) in 1894). Other than that I know nothing.

I wondered if someone would be willing to look up the address to see oif he lived there on the 1891 or 1901 census?
Any other ideas on how to find out more?
