ERs these are held locally to the address you're interested in. You'll need to contact the local main reference or local studies library for the London borough concerned. Noting that there were no ERs during WW2 (1939 - 44) they resumed in 1945 in with two May and October. Just google the relevant borough and contract them – they may charge and you’ll need to know a specific address.

If you want to look up recent years ie 2004 - 2007 there are a number of websites which provide this service but as you've found out there's a cost.

There are people in this site who may do recent year look ups for you - you'll need to post the details etc.

Just a thought have you looked at the BT phone books (1880 – 1984) that are on Ancestry?

Hope this helps.

Living in Spain all my research is internet based. I'm trying to locate family after 1901 in London, up until 1970. Where would be a good place to start, ie. electrol rolls. found one site 'lookuppeople.co.uk but its quite expensive. Any advice....
