Hi Heather

I'm looking for Jane Marsh m William Cross abt 1884 Birmingham/maybe Herefordshire. Looked 1880-1890 identified only 5 where records not complete:

Sept 1881 Atcham 6a 991
Dec 1882 Chorley 8e 800
Dec 1886 Preston 8e 854
Mar 1887 Hoxne 4a 748a
June 1890 Bath 5c 1083.

Obviously first one is favourite but can't marry her up to William Cross under that reference number.

Have MC for William Cross and Jane Webb but all the children (10) have mother as maiden name Marsh. Obviously investigated 2nd marriage and can find Keziah Jane Marsh married Joseph Henry Webb and had a child Henry Joseph Webb. Both husband and child died shortly after marriage/birth so could conceivably be her. But then why on her marriage to William Cross is she "spinster" and not "widower"?

Strangely, Jane Marsh's father was called George Marsh - Blacksmith and Jane Webb's father on the MC is called George Webb - Blacksmith???

Confusing isn't it.

Best wishes
Pat

You are looking on freebmd. Freebmd is being transcribed by volunteers (god bless them) over many years and if there is a person missing it just means that one hasnt yet been transcribed.

Who is the person you are looking for?

Some of the records I have found only list 3 people ie 2 women and 1 man or vice versa. How do I find out the other person?

Thank you
Pat
