Advice on buying FTM Please

After being persuaded that what i need is FMT i have just looked up web-sites to order over the net - and i am a bit confused as they seem to vary in price so much.
One site is offering Program Version Only, i want to keep all my details on GR but have been told that it is advisable to also have it stored somewhere else as well, also for others that are not members of GR to be able to look at my tree if i so wish.
Can anyone advise me please?

You can get a FTM 2006 for about £10. The ones that are more expensive usually come with extra CD's etc. These CD's don't usually have very extensive coverage and in my opinion, are not worth paying the extra for.

i have had ftm for a few years now and love it i have tried a trial offer of the new ftm 2008 but i still preferred my ftm 05. i think you can get this for about £10 i have never had any extra cd's etc.. or downloads just the basic and i keep all my info on it. i have several trees on it for other members of my family that i am doing research for
well worth looking in to

I agree that the extra CDs are not worth paying extra for. But some of the FTM 2006 packages also come with free trial subscriptions to Ancestry (ranging from 1 month to 6 months depending on which FTM package you buy), so that may be something to consider.
