you may find his Army records at Kew. I did for paternal grandad who enlisted in 1898 -1904.

His record still isnt showing on the National Archives search though ,so you may need to visit Kew to find yours.

I have George Vinall re-enlisted for and awarded WW1 medals, BWM Victory &14-15 Star.
I know he was serving at 1901; I have him at barracks in Woolwich. RG13 569 12 18
Any kind soul with access to QSA or KSA medal rolls willing to have look please?
Desperate so I have also posted this on records board.
