There is a marriage on the partially transcribed marriage index on Ancestry for a John Richards in 1865 and one of the other names on the page is an Ann Swann. This marriage was in Ludlow.

However the most reliable way of finding out Ann's maiden name is to buy the birth certificate of one of her children.

The census results are from ancestry. The marriage from ancestry, which needs the subscription, but you can look for it for free on free bmd and the baptisms on the IGI
