dose anybody know how i would go about obtaining work house records
my great grandfather split from his first wish between 1891 and 1901 cenus and although i have found his first wife ( she was put down as a border in 1901) in the 1901 cenus i cannot find my great grandfather or the children so i was wondering if he put the children into a workhouse so what i would like to know is how do i go about obtaining work houses records just so i can tie up some lose endsmany thanx

workhouse residents would be recorded on census as well.

I found several of my rellies from both sides on different census records ie 1871 and 1881.

If they were in between census and in London workhouses then you may find them at London Metropolitan Archives

They should be in the relevant County Records Office.
