Not all WW1 service records are on Ancestry - there are a LOT more at Kew.

Goodall family from Edmonton, Bexley, Tottenham area, Broom, Brown and Long families from Norfolk and lastley my elusive Attwell/Atwell family Middlesex area?

You can go to Kew to research W War 1 and after W War 1 up to 1922,

You can download from TNA, medal entitlements for both w War 1 and 2 at £3.50 per throw.

You can download all W War 1 Soldier docs that have survived fro Ancestry at a cost of joining Ancestry or taking advantage of their 3 days free access.

W War 2 docs will have to be done through Glasgow although you can access war diaries at Kew, but these will only help with where regt was and what battles, and will not be helpful on a personal note for your ancestor although very interesting for putting flesh on to your bones.

W War 2 Docs are unlikely to be available before 75 years after end of W War 2 which is about 2020 so its a long haul to wait until then. W war 1 docs only came on the scene early 1990's, about 1993, if I remember rightly.

Ancestry have got the pension records for WW1 these will normaly give you info on where they joined up anything after 1921 will be at the address below

The national archives will have their medal cards for WW1

Enquiries about information from Army personnel records should be made to the appropriate address below:

can any one tell me how i can find out when and were my uncles inlisted in the army, one in ww1, 2 in 1920's and 1 in ww2 al around the edmonton/walthamstow area, with out having to pay disclosures at glasgow please
