but what I can try is to look at the census of the children and follow them to see if I get nieghbours....of the m/c as witnesses

The Peter that Reg has found in 1881 is a builders labourer so he could be a painter.

As her father was 'deceased', you may have to consider that she was illegitimate.

Have you located her on 1901 census?

could someone help me!!!
Right great granny ...Emily Govier married Joseph Hicks in dec 1901 in London....said her father is peter govier dec...was a labourer...she was 20 in that year ..I think I have her birth ...june1881 s. molton!??
But cant find anything else!!?? Could fathers name be wrong and where do I go from here?
