Every part of my tree is coming to an end i cant seem to get anywhere after certain points!
Im looking for an Arabbela Gribble born approx 1850 in somerset i think, all i have to go by is a scary looking photo and the fact that she married a Gribble and had a child named George Gribble born approx 1874 in Cornwall, I cant find any Arabbella's and ive asked and asked and she was definatly Arabella.
Another ends in my tree (because everyone swapped kids and lied about who everyone was) is George Gribble married Mary E Thomas in Ponty in 1894.
Now according to family Mary died giving birth to her ONLY child Mary Elizabeth Gribble in 1896 however in a 1901 census i found a George Gribble and Wife Elizabeth (possibly mary's middle name) and daughter Mary Elizabeth and other children however Mary is supposed to be the only child its too cofusing as then there is a big Gribble and Thomas fight because George remarried Annie Spry. I know its too weird but if anyone can help shed a light or point me in the right direction - if i was in wales id go knock on the doors of any rellies but unfortunatly i cant

Her surname would hardly have been Gribble when she was born............have you found the marriage registration?

What does 1881 census say about her?

I would suggest trying to find her son's birth certificate which would give her maiden name and then you could try and find her marriage certificate and birth certificate.

Only two george Gribbles born in Cornwall showing on 1881........one born 1872, the other 1879.

Neither has a mother named Arabella

Arabbella isnt a Gribble no but she married one and all im going by is whats on the back of a photo which was my great aunts who died early this year! She is the mother of Geroge Gribble born 1874 in Cornwall as there were big feuds no body knows anything

I dont even know how to find Georges certificate id have to go the long way round i guess get mary Elizabeths (georges daughter) birth certificate and work up from there hm daunting ... fun but i suppose thanks reggie

You need to find the registration for George's birth, and purchase the cert, if you find it.

freebmd should have the year you need........

Possible parents George Gribble & Elizabeth N

George was born c1873 Exeter Devon
Elizabeth was born c1873 Pontypridd
Marriage is more likely to have taken place in Wales

See i said to my gramps are you sure she died giving birth to his grandmotherand he said thats what everyone said but noone had anytime for George Gribble as he married so soon after his first wifes death.
and his wife Annie Gribble in fact is his daughter Mary Elizabeths sister in law (she married annies brother james years later - one happy family!!)

I don't know if you have found anything more after 2 years but my sister has met a lady from Pontypridd whose husband was George Gribble, he was in the welsh guards as a regular soldier and died last year I think he was 80+
She is trying to find some info for us ,but his father was also George.
George (junior) was adopted after an accident which I beleive killed the rest of his family this is all I know.My maiden name was Gribble and we come from South Wales.
