Birth registration wasn't compulsory until 1875.........you may find that the births were simply not registered.

I would just add there are some brilliant online parish clerks for Cornwall and you could google to find one covering this area and email them with your requests.

Can you tell me where Marazion is

Hi

Can anyone help me please?? I am trying to trace GEORGE HENRY HALSE. He married Martha Hocking Williams in 1886 in Marazion. From the record, it says he's 23 - so I assume he was born around 1863. I have found a George Halse born in 1861 on the 1871 census living in a workhouse. There is also a Edward Halse born 1859, but I no parents. I have then found a George Halse b. c1864 on the 1881 census. However, I cannot find birth records for them at all. Nor can I find Edward on the 1861 census! George's father was called John and was a miner, but I can't find him either! Any suggestions???

Many thanks,
Juliana
