My Washingtons were on the I.O.M. at Onchan 1891 Census, Herbert went to Australia and married Mina Moran, but the rest of the family have gone awol is there 1901 for I.O.M , any suggestions?

I can not see any Washington(s) in 1891 on IOM.

There are some in 1881.

Oh Wow, thankyou, Herberts First child Lawrence was born 1900 Victoria, sorry I mis typed the year for census. Cant you tell Im a newbie !
so he was in Oz before he was 21 , I've trawled through most sites, mine came fron St Pancras mainly ,,Henry was my Grand dads Uncle. There loads on American Washingtons but cant find much about English ones? Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places

It probably isnt linked but George Washingtons ancestors came from near me, in North Lancs, on the border with Cumbria.

Thanks Caz ........Mine were from St pancras, Somerstown London.. gg,s were baptised in Headington, but before 1805 zilch ,I can't lay claim to half of Northumbria just yet! I cant find anyone who specialises in white english washingtons it was also a tribute name also hard to trace. I'm stuck.

Certainly are but where did they go? Herbert went to oz, since they were church goers they must surely have married, died etc. but I cant find anything else about them, maybe they emigrated! Alien abduction ? Thanks Eric
