Member Since: March 2006 Posts: 828 Send Message	The original BMD indexes used be free to view and now they've changed it. Free BMD isn't complete yet...anyone got any info on where to find free BMD indexes? I need to search a lot of birth indexes and start from scratch again! ! !

	They are free in libraries and records offices. I don't know of anywhere online where you can still find them for free, they are all on websites that charge. Sam x

	Why dont you take a 14 day trial on ancestry which is free and knock out all the bmds you need in that time. Personally I dont know how I could have done my family research without ancestry there on tap for the last 4 years. Even now, though I feel I may have used all the census info I need I still come across instances where I need to look something up on census and Id be lost without being able just to click on to it. I think we may find now that things will tighten up a lot and there will be a lot less freebies from them and also, hmm, the free look ups offered by people on sites like this may come under scrutiny by the new owners.
