trying to find a marriage advice needed please

Hi i am trying to find a marriage in scotland c 1976 for a james john o'neill to a christine ? in the aberdeen area. i have looked on scotlands people and the marriages on there only go up to 1931 anyone got any ideas where i might be able to look

The only place for the info is the Scottish GRO.............but, they are more keen on privacy than England/Wales, so I don't know how you'd fare asking for records which are so very recent........

No doubt someone with experience of the SGRO will have more detailed info...........

thanks reg for your reply . the marriage in question was that of my brothers but we were estranged so i dont have much info on him and sadly he is dead now how do i contact the scottish gro any idea

Keep an eye on the Records Board, sometimes someone will go to Edinburgh & offer to do lookups. I'm not sure which records they can access but it's worth asking.
