This is also on IGI

It is possible that Mary on 1861 census is May on 1871.

There are now enough possible entries for it to be worthwhile to spend some money on ScotlandsPeople

ScotlandsPeople is a pay to view site.

£6 gets you 30 credits. Do a search and it will cost 1 credit to view the results and then a further 5 credits to view an image.

So not too bad at £1.20 to get a copy of a marriage cert. Would still leave you some credits for further research.

The certificate states BOILERSMITH as occupation of Lauchlan is this the same as a BOILERMAKER?.

Just did a free search on ScotlandsPeople.

There is one match for a marriage between Elizabeth Swan and Lachlan McLean in 1858.

No idea if the right couple.

Sorry got no credits left on ScotlandsPeople.

My g.g.grandmother was born Isabella McLean on 10/11/1863 in Graham Street, Middlesbrough. Reg dist.Stockton-Sub dist.Yarm in the Counties of Durham and York. Her father was Lauchlan McLean and her mother was Elizabeth McLean Nee SWAN. In 1901 she is was living in Bishop Auckland married to Arthur William COOPER he was born in Denston in Suffolk. I would like to find out where Isabella's mother and father originated from if possible, all help would be gratefully appreciated.
