Irish BMD from 1864 are available to order in through any LDS Family History Centre.

Irish Parish Records pre 1864 are gradually coming online at a price, 10 Euros or about £7 each go.

I have just nudged up the "Irish Records Online from October 07" thread. They include Cork and Mallow, North Tipperary, Dublin Swords, Leitrim and Roscommon.

The following website gives you the full coverage to date:

Hi this is almost 2 year old so things may have changed.
It is a reply I got from Dublin when I enquired about some census

Dear Germaine,

With reference to your enquiry, household returns of the 1901 and 1911
Census can be ordered from the National Archives at a cost of 2.54 Euro
per copy, inclusive of postage. Cheques, bank drafts or money orders
should be made payable to the "National Archives". The equivalent in
Pounds Sterling is acceptable.
The maximum number of orders which may be made by post, at any one time,
is four. Orders for copies cannot be accepted over the phone or by
e-mail.

Request should be addressed to: National Archives, Bishop St., Dublin 8.

You should provide the name of the family, the townland or street and,
if possible, the District Electoral Division number, or, the name of the
civil parish. This may not be the same as the RC parish.

The IreAtlas townland database can be searched for place-names at:
www.leitrim-roscommon.com/ireatlas/

Both the 1901 and 1911 censuses are expected to be online by 2008-09,
with a topographical index and an index of every name that appears in
both censuses.

Reply received from Ancestry: We do not have any dates for BMD for Ireland, the government will not release the records.

Thank you Joy and Carolyn for the nudge.

Last year, or the year before, someone posted a thread about Irish BMDs being online in the not too distant future. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the thread. I'll have a think and come back .... not today though probably.

I heard a rumour that the Irish BMD would soon be online at Ancestry. Is it true? Does anyone know when?
