I am (reliably?) informed by GR that it is not possible to delete 'Hot Matches'. They, merely, go into an 'Ignore' File, which can be retrieved at any time.

So far I've no Jones or Evans from Wales (now that's tempting fate!)

Hee hee,
Claire

I have many "Evans's" in my Hott list but my lot are not from Wales....
I have 11 pages to go through..........LOL

yes thats What I am thinking, once a Match is suggested, it stays there till its deleted from your OWN list....

You only delete your own Hot Match it doesn't delete at the other end.

However I am preety sure that when a match is made it doesn't automatically notify the other party of the same match.

I often get Hot Matches on my paid tree from my free tree but not a corresponding notification.

Hope that makes sense.

I think people are very good at filtering out what isn't an actual hot match...or they just aren't active on the site. I have two hot matches on mine and both are my brother's accounts who haven't been on in about 2 years or something.

The annoying thing is that I want *more* matches. As I was adding a load of people to my tree I was getting the searches saying that they were in peoples trees and a couple of them were the right ones. I had hoped that these would add to hot matches so I could see at a glance how many we shared.

Hot matches for me have gone to the other extreme. There just aren't enough lol.

Deleting them from your list won't delete them from other people's lists I wouldn't have thought.

I pretty certain that if you delete your non hotmatches it only affects your own list.

When viewing hot matches, and you delete the obvious NOTT matches, Does that automatically delete the "" Match"" from the other correspondents list?or does it leave them there?
I find I have many NOTT!! matches, and have rarely been contacted by another member.......is that clear as mud?, I should think,
I am wondering they have deleted Theirs, but left the list on mine?
