I have managed to trace back to my great, great grandparents, a big thank you to those on here who have helped. However because they were born in c.1811, I am unable to order a birth certificate for either, which was going to be my next move, so how can I go further back?. I do know their names, Rudman and where they lived, Bristol. I also know my great, great grandfathers trade, a mason and their other job as licenced victulars at a pub called The Masons arms. From here I am stuck. Any tips please. Karen

You need to look for their baptisms in the parish records.

Have you tried the IGI? There are a lot on there. If no joy there, you probably need to start visting the Records Office.

Hi Karen,

Marcelle is offering lookups on here for certain area's of Bristol for that period.

Probably worth a try.
