Going round in circles trying to find William Irv

Can anybody help me with william and his family. Found his marriage to georgina in 1889. Father listed as robert. Found his birth and christening on IGI Individual record Father listed as robert and mother elizabeth born 6th Feb 1869 Christened 29th March 1869 St Peter Liverpool Lancashire. England and Scotland have no records of this birth and I dont seem to be able to find them on any censuses before the 1891 when he was married to georgina. can anybody suggested where elso to go because i have been on this for months now. william's middle name on is Mcdonald. Is there any reasons for people not being on censuses does anybody know |

Have you tried the scottish census (with that name!!) On his marriage cert what is his occupation and that of his father? |
