Thanks, Pete, I forgot that site.

Or you can send to the register office for the certificates.

If you want to order the certificate from the GRO you'll need the GRO ref details

Year 1853
Qtr Oct-Dec
Name PINNINGTON Ann
District W Derby
Volume 8b
Page 744

There is a corresponding entry for James BLACKBURN

Thanks, but it certainly doesn't look like Trattle
But that is around the right time, I think.

I'd say it was pretty certain to be Howson

There is a marriage in Liverpool for a George Strickland to an Alice Trattle September quarter 1854 (free BMD site).

Hi
Trying to find the maiden names of two of my ancestors and then move on to marriage details, so I ordered two birth certs. Trouble is, I can't find a suitable marriage on free BMD.
I have my gggrandfather George Strickland born abt 1824,wife Alice (looks like) Howson, but no marriage.
Also another gggrandfather James Blackburn born abt 1832, wife Ann(e) then it's difficult, possibly Rimington.
Both marriages would have been in Liverpool.
Where do I go from here please?
Thanks
Irene
