Please help me put an end to some confusion.

My great grandfather is Ernest Hill dob 1883. He died in 1939.

According to one source he married a Francis BartonAug 1914 in Christ Church, Beswick, Manchester, Lancashire, England and had one child called Albert Ellis Hill dob. This source has all the correct information regarding my family tree but the Francis Barton. I think there is possibility that Ernest remarried to Ann and had Vera???? Confusion there. I would say this source had the wrong information but all the addresses etc fit?

According to my distant cousin Ernest married Ann Boardham and had two children Albert and Vera. My cousin has the marriage cert to prove this. Can anyone help me please

Something is very wrong here

We have
Ernest marrying Ann Boardman 1908

Albert Ellis born 1910

Ernest marrying Frances Barton Q 3 1914

Vera born Q4 1914 MMN Boardman

From Vera's birth Ann Boardman was still alive when Ermest "married" the second time

Haven't found a baptism yet for Albert as his parents married in 1914 it would seem he was born 4 years earlier or he lied on marriage as his wife was 25.

Mum's name is not shown on an England or Wales marriage cert therefore the only confirmed fact is his father was named as Ernest Hill on the marriage cert.

The birth of Arthur Ellis Hill shown above was 1910, this ties up with him being 25 at time of marriage in 1935.

As you contact is querying Arthur's age he does not have his birth cert therefore Arthur's Mum could be anyone.

I would suggest that you order this birth cert which will confirm his Mum's name which could be
A) Ann Boardman
B) Frances Barton (marriage after he was born)
C) Someone we haven't yet found

You are dealing with some very common names here, so there's no point making assumptions... you've got to get certificates!
