Yes, am sure that was her name when she married Fred Parkinson in 1924, rushed marriage, but as I said not sure if she was a widow. After having another look at some of my moms paper work, I am now looking for a marriage between sarah ann woodland and male dovey.

I've just searched from Jan 1924 to Dec 1926 and couldn't see a birth in Parkinson, mmn Dovey. Are you sure of the year?

Regardless of how many times she had married, it should be her maiden name that was recorded after the child's surname in the index.....after 1911.

Perhaps it would be best to start with a copy of Fredrick and Sarah's marriage certificate.....

I am looking for a birth. Problem I have is I don’t know if the child was male or female. It was born in Birmingham June 1924 – June 1926. The Fathers name was Fredrick Parkinson Mother Sarah Dovey, but I don’t know if Sarah was a widow before she married Fred. Would Sarah have put her maiden name down on the birth, or her 1st married name?
