Sorry I think I have confussed things. Jacob and Martha in 1851 have the 23 year old son called Medrick.

In 1861 Medrick and Mary Ann have a ten year old son called Henry.

I can't find this family in 1871 but James is in a workhouse with his sister also called Martha (after her Gran?).

Sorry for the confusion

Why dont you scan the cert and let people see it.

If the first son is called Madrick on the 1851, Id have thought it most likely that is the marriage with the father called Medrick - and at the right time and place.

Hi, on James marriage certificate it wasn't very clear but I believed it to be Meshack (a biblical name apparently). His birth certificate has arrived this morning and it clearly says Meshack.

However, other than a christening for Meshack on the LDS website I can't find anyother record of him. LDS tells me that Meshack's parents were Jacob and Martha.

On the 1851 census I have found them with a son called Medrick who would the correct age.

I believe from the 1861 census that they have six children older than James, the eldest been ten so this would all fit in with the marriage you have found Heather. But not 100% sure the name on James birth is Whirrell.

Thanks for your help

I think weve probably found the marriage as above.

That you maybe type in what a word looks like and it tells you other possible words it could be??

I have just got a birth certificate and I am trying to get his mothers maiden name to trace a marriage. The father is called Mashach Lawrence and the mother is Mary Ann and it looks like Newiell. There son James was born in Swnidon in 1862.

Any Ideas??

Thanks
