Have you tried LancashireBMD online for the birth registration?

Hi Julie

I just visited a record office to view two extracted baptism records of IGI and it gave the place the mother was from on both records which helped a lot, so I did get extra info.

Hi Julie, the local records office for Liverpool is likely to have the copies of the records, if you cannot get there, the LDS will order a microfilm of the records if you can get to an LDS centre. Depending on whether the IGI record is submitted or extracted, the information is sometmes unreliable. I have know additional comments made in the side margins of the registers that has not been recorded on submission/extraction.
Some parish records are online, but not sure about Liverpool, do a google and see what you can find.

I have found from IGI a birth and baptism record for my gg grandfather (1869) No record of his birth though from southport. The info on IGI says Saint Peter Liverpool gives a mother and fathers name. Does anybody know how to view this information or does the actual record from the church hold any more info that is listed.
Thanks
