To look at BMDs for the timescale you are tralking about, you need to click on 'Full BMD Indexes', and search through them quarter by quarter.

Just putting a his name into the search box on the front page won't give you any results.

Full BMD indexes have not been indexed, the FreeBMD ones only cover upto about 1920 and the latest census available is 1901, that's why you get no results.

yeh he is still alive, i only have the nanes of his mother and father, & he wont really talk about them so i am a bit stuck

Is he still alive? In which case he might not be there? Try his father or mother or a grandparent.

I have tried looking for a Peter Henry on Ancestry, born in 1932 and I beleive in Sale Cheshire, why is it that all i can get up on this site is either the 1800s or USA , I have clicked UK BMD,I have required his marriage cert from anothe site which was in 1951,
