children's home, middlesbrough 1901

By accident I came across my grandfather listed in a Children's Home, Ayresome Green Lane, Middlesbrough on the 1901 census, age 13.
Any suggestions where I could get more details on this home. It looked big as there were two pages of children listed on the census.

google didn't turn up anything so it may be as you say Kath, the Teeside Archives will probably be the answer.
