Thanks everyone, especially Jim. Can't believe I have the wrong cert.didn't think Wm NICHOLAS was a particularly common name, seems I was wrong. However, I'm back searching and wondering if anyone has any ideas, my William Nicholas Arnold was born 1838 in Whitechapel, he married Jane Deighton in 1857 in Bethnal Green. He was at home with the family on 1851 Census and then with just wife Jane on the 1861 Census but disappears from the face of the earth after that. Can anyone else see his death or any other entries anywhere please?

but I'm posting this and will have to come back this evening.

I've just received a death cert. for Wm. Nicholas Arnold who died 10.04.1883 aged 35yrs. by drowning in the Thames from falling off a barge.

1. I have his DOB as 1837 which would have made him 46yrs.
2. There was an inquest, is there anywhere I can get a copy of it, if so how do I go about it?
3. Is there anyway of tracing the company he worked for as a stevedore.

Thanks anyone/everyone, I'll be back later.

Linda
